Exploring the art of the basket in metal and stone. Size 11.
An art we often see everywhere yet never to think of the skill it takes to make a basket. It’s not easy and though my version is an artistic exploration, I really have a new appreciation for the time and energy required to make these ubiquitous items. Bloodstone was often used in the Roman era for wax seal rings. The basket was built for the stone and its a testament to how many small fibers can come together to form a fabric of strength.
